The youth ministry at First Baptist
Eatonton is a growing, exciting and fun ministry.
The purpose of our ministry is to introduce lost
students to Jesus Christ and to develop stronger
Christians for the struggles of everyday
life...especially the pressures that weight heavily on
you during school.
Behind every activity, our desire is to
accomplish at least two things: (1) to glorify God in
everything we do and (2) to have the most fun possible
doing it! The verse that we will be using as our
mission statement is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding: in all your ways acknowledge him, and he
will make your paths straight." If you are a student in
grades 6-12 and live in the Eatonton area I would love
to meet you and have you join us. We certainly are
not perfect people, but we are following a the Perfect
Lord! Come Join Us!!!!
Youth and Activities News
It is still not too late to
donate to our adopted family of Ms. Flora and Grady from
Biloxi. We will be collecting money through the 21st to
help them out this Christmas. Thank you to those who
have already given.
Youth, don’t forget that
Monday, the 22nd, we will be driving up to the Mall of
Georgia to spend the day. You can shop, watch a movie,
and enjoy the time with each other. Just remember to
bring your shopping money and to let me know you are
planning to go so that I can have the transportation
ready to go. We will leave the church parking lot at 9
a.m. and arrive home sometime that evening.
Upward basketball practice
has begun! From the early numbers, we are going to have
more players for our second season that our first! Yea!
Thank you to our coaches and parents for agreeing to
help with our league. Volunteers are also needed each
Saturday for a short testimony to be shared at halftime
of each game. Sign-up sheets will be available in your
Sunday school classes this Sunday. It would be great if
each Sunday school class agreed to take a game day,
(there are only eight), and be in charge for that day.
Just let me know how you would like to help. The first
game day of the season is January 10th.
The Reber’s want to wish you
all a very Merry Christmas. May God bless you in awesome
ways during this Christmas season. We love you all!
Merry Christmas!
