The youth ministry at First Baptist
Eatonton is a growing, exciting and fun ministry.
The purpose of our ministry is to introduce lost
students to Jesus Christ and to develop stronger
Christians for the struggles of everyday
life...especially the pressures that weight heavily on
you during school.
Behind every activity, our desire is to
accomplish at least two things: (1) to glorify God in
everything we do and (2) to have the most fun possible
doing it! The verse that we will be using as our
mission statement is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding: in all your ways acknowledge him, and he
will make your paths straight." If you are a student in
grades 6-12 and live in the Eatonton area I would love
to meet you and have you join us. We certainly are
not perfect people, but we are following a the Perfect
Lord! Come Join Us!!!!
Youth and Activities News
Wow! One
month of 2010 is already passing by us! It's hard to
believe that January is closing out already! It has been
a great month around here with the youth and with
Upward. Hope your January has been a great one also.
Youth, this coming weekend is going to be a fun one. We
will have an open gym night on Saturday, February 6th
from 7-9 pm. Come by and we will be playing ball of all
sorts.
Sunday, February 7th will be our annual Super Bowl
party! We have lots of Saints fans and Colts fan, so it
should be pretty exciting here as we watch the big game
together. We will meet in the youth room at
6 pm with kickoff scheduled for 6:25 pm. At halftime, we
will be watching a special video of Carson Palmer,
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, and Chad Pennington,
Miami Dolphins quarterback, sharing their testimonies.
This is going to be a great night of fun. Bring a friend
with you and join in on the fun. I will be providing
drinks and you are asked to bring your favorite football
food to share with each other. Hope to see you here!
Youth, put February 14th and 15th on your calendar for a
lock-in with First United Methodist Church and Lake
Oconee Presbyterian Church. We will begin the evening at
7pm at our gym and the lock-in will end at 6:30 am at
Spotlight Theaters. This is going to be an AWESOME night
with lots of fun planned. Invite your friends, take a
nap, and be ready for a great evening. The cost for the
evening is only $20 due at the door when you arrive.
Don't miss out!
Finally, our next trip to Biloxi will be March 11th.
Start making your plans and mark those calendars. When
you have decided you are going, please let me know.
Thanks!
See you soon!
