The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church
has a very high regard for teaching God's word from a
musical approach. We recognize the need for
every child to have a good basic music education.
More importantly we see the need for everyone to
know and understand Biblical truths. A program of
music that weaves these two concepts together like a
fine tapestry is our goal. Whether we use
traditional hymns, classical selections, seasonal
musicals, or contemporary music, the core of our
teaching program exemplifies and promotes basic Biblical
truths and encourages their understanding and use.
We offer a graded choir program for
kindergarten ages through senior adults. Handbells
and choirchimes are offered for children, youth and
adults. Special ensembles are formed to give
everyone the opportunity to share and develop their
talents.
The culmination of our program focuses on
corporate worship. We believe worship is an
important part of the harmony of a loving, caring
congregation. It is our goal to make every worship
service meaningful. It is during these times
of worship that our relationship with God through
Jesus Christ is strengthened. Continued
development is essential if we reach our full potential
as Christians. This should be every Christian's
goal. What we offer in our music program is a
musical approach in helping to obtain maturity as a
Christian. |
