Who We Are
Louise's
Garden is named in honor of Louise Ashurst, a life-long
member of First Baptist who taught Sunday School for
many years. Each week Louise would sprinkle her
garden of class members with inspiration, humor, and
love. Louise was forced to retire from teaching
for health reasons but her loving legacy continues in
this close-knit Sunday School class. The garden of
individuals who attend this class include baby boomers
and "graduate" baby boomers who refuse to divulge their
age on the class roster. Pairs and spares attend
the class and Harris McCollum, Greg Covington, Mike
Franks, and Skipper Hudson rotate teaching
responsibilities on a weekly basis. Lively
discussions often include the terrible teens, a first
grandchild, or empty nest syndrome. |
