Glenn was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. He attended High School at Southwest. He has a brother and a sister, both living in middle Georgia.
Glenn, a conducting major- voice minor and percussionist, attended Florida Baptist College and graduate school at Southwestern Seminary. Harrell also continued to use his education in electronics from working in a television shop and his love for all things audio by working in the Audio Visual services of college and graduate schools; recording engineer and supervisor. He also subcontracted for local Audio Visual firms as well as sang in the Fort Worth Opera. He served two churches while a student and upon graduation, he married Jana Linsley and set off to do home missions in the state of Ohio for six years. Glenn and Jana both served as state clinicians in the areas of choir, hand bells, children's choirs and keyboard accompanist. Glenn also began the Ohio State Baptist Youth Choir and served as its director as well as assistant director of the State Men's Chorus. While in Ohio, he did further studies at Wright State University as orchestral percussionist and drummer for the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Glenn and Jana sang with the WSU Chorus and mass chorus at Carnegie Hall, performing Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Harrell studied privately with John Leman, conducting professor, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He has been conductor and soloist for several Handel's Messiah performances.
After moving to Fort Worth Texas to pursue a Doctorate, Glenn and Jana had their first child, Melissa. They also continued to sing with the Fort Worth Opera.
Glenn also continued his love for electronics and speaker design, studying at Nortex and serving two churches part time.
The call came from Honolulu Hawaii to serve in missions once again and the family moved to Hawaii and served for three years at the Olivet Baptist church as well as serving as state clinician with mission trips to Samoa, Western Samoa, and Japan as well as other Hawaiian Islands. Mitchell Harrell was born to the family. Other works while in Hawaii included musical instrument repair, amplifier and speaker repair. Glenn also worked for Mozart Music, rebuilding and refinishing Steinway pianos and learning the art of piano tuning.
Upon moving back to the mainland to care for a parent, Glenn began working for an Atlanta based Audio Visual Company. When given the option of moving to Atlanta, he chose to begin his own business with wife and family, preferring to remain local and raise their children in Gray, Ga. Glenn is designer, engineer and installer for Wesley Audio with certifications in system design, electronics repair and speaker repair with Electrovoice and JBL. He also holds certification for speaker hanging Fly ware. He builds custom tube amplifiers and guitars. Mr. Harrell is a Luther, having been a certified repair technician for Martin Guitars.
